VINES STORM HORSHAM BIG STYLE!
VINES STORM HORSHAM BIG STYLE!
What a great weekend it was for our Gatwick dealership on Saturday 10 April. The sun was shining and over 100 MINI customers in 44 MINIs old and new were ready and waiting at our dealership for the big convoy to Horsham. The reason – Horsham’s Piazza Italia!
After enjoying a look around the MINI showroom and one or two cups of tea, we set off in convoy. So big was this run that we had a police escort and two Italian police motorbikes join us!
Following our attendance last year with 3 MINIs in aid of their Italian Job theme, this year MINI really stole the show! Decorated with MINI balloons galore our MINIs were the centre of attention. We also sponsored the giant scalextric, which drew a lot of interest for kids and adults alike - lots of little MINIs speeding around the track – Great!
Not only did this event give us the opportunity to spend time with customers and meet potential new ones, it was all for a worthy cause.
Teaming up with main sponsor Pizza Express, together we worked to make the event not only fun but rewarding, putting together prizes for the charity auction, which raised money for the children’s charity Chestnut Tree. We were able to donate a MINI Convertible for a weekend plus a pair of Michael Owen’s football boots!
Garry Mortimer-Cook, Town Centres Manager for Horsham District Council was really impressed with 2010’s first ever Pizza Express Horsham Italian Job MINI Run saying, “Vines (Gatwick) MINI were a new event partner last year when together with Pristige Grand Prix they helped us to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Italian Job film as part of our annual Easter Italian Festival – Horsham Piazza Italia. This year we had the idea to start a MINI run from their Three Bridges, Crawley dealership and together with Pizza Express, Horsham they did a great job in attracting over 40 Mini’s, both old and new, that filled Horsham’s East Street and brought a whole new dimension of fun to the Festival. We made a great new contact with theitalianjob.com and together I hope as a team we can build towards Easter Monday 2011 - the 5th Anniversary Horsham Piazza Italia’s MINI Monday.”
The level of interest in our MINIs was phenomenal and we loved every minute. We would like to thank all of our customers for coming along and taking part, with special thanks to The Italian Job Charity run who came along with10 classic Mini's. Everyone had a blast!
If the residents of Horsham didn’t know where Vines of Gatwick was, they sure do now! We can wait ‘til next year – roll on Easter 2011!
